2Collins, Paul. Not even wrong : adventures in autism / Paul Collins. – New York : Bloomsbury, 2004. – 245 p.

In Not Even Wrong, Paul Collins melds a memoir of his son’s autism with a journey into this realm of permanent outsiders. Examining forgotten geniuses and obscure medical archives, Collins’s travels take him from an English churchyard to the Seattle labs of Microsoft, and from a Wisconsin prison cell block to the streets of Vienna. It is a story that reaches from a lonely clearing in the Black Forest into the London palace of King George I, from Defoe and Swift to the discovery of evolution; from the modern dawn of the computer revolution to, in the end, the author’s own household.

Not Even Wrong is a haunting journey into the borderlands of neurology – a meditation on what „normal” is, and how human genius comes to us in strange and wondrous forms.

5Covey, Stephen R. The seven habits of highly effective people : Restoring the character ethic / Stephen R. Covey. – New York : A Fireside Book, 1990. – 360 p.

„The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People” is a comprehensive program based on developing an awareness of how perceptions and assumptions hinder success–in business as well as presonal relationships. Here’s an approach that will help broaden your way of thinking and lead to greater opportunities and effective problem solving.

Be Pro-Active: Take the initiative and the responsibility to make things happen.

Begin With an End in Mind: Start with a clear destination to understand where you are now, where you’re going and what you value most.

Put First Things First: Manage yourself. Organize and execute around priorities.

Think Win/Win: See life as a cooperative, not a comprehensive arena where success is not achieved at the expense or exclusion of the success of others.

Seek First to Understand: Understand then be understood to build the skills of empathetic listening that inspires openness and trust.

Synergize: Apply the principles of cooperative creativity and value differences.

Renewal: Preserving and enhanving your greatest asset, yourself, by renewing the physical, spiritual, mental and social/emotional dimensions of your nature. Stephen R. Covey is the most respected motivator in the business world today. Learn to use his „7 Habits Of Highly Effective People” –and see how they can change your life.

10Editor, Feldman, S. Shirley; Editor, Elliott, Glen R. At the Threshold : The developing adolescent ; edited by S. Shirley Feldman and Glen R. Elliott. – Cambridge : Harvard University Press, 1990. – 642 p.

Adolescents embody the best hopes of American society. Their vital role in shaping our future lends particular significance to their success in negotiating the passage from childhood to adulthood, while their intensity and visibility often make them barometers of social change. It is all the more remarkable, then, that this critical period has only recently captured the full attention of researchers. At the Threshold presents the long-awaited findings of the Carnegie Foundation study on adolescence. It offers a comprehensive overview of what investigators are learning about normal development and provides an interdisciplinary synthesis of research into the biological, social, and psychological changes occurring during this key stage in the life span. While focusing on the contexts of adolescent life – social and ethnic, family and school, leisure and work-it also addresses how researchers are doing in the effort to understand the intersection of processes that initiate and sustain adolescent development and to characterize the extraordinary changes that occur during these years. Contrary to popular belief, large numbers of young people continue to mature into productive members of society. At the Threshold seeks to allow professionals and nonprofessionals alike important access to the reality of normal adolescent experience. The authors recognize that only if we begin to understand and clearly articulate the parameters of successful adolescent development can we hope to intervene with those individuals whose lives seem aimed toward unsatisfactory futures.

1Krause, Mark. Psychological science : modeling scientific literacy / Mark Krause. – Upper Saddle River : Pearson Education, 2012. – 651 p.

Modeling Scientific Literacy helps students view psychology as a practical, modern science-and gives them the tools to better understand their world. Organized around a scientific literacy model, the text’s content and features encourage scientific inquiry, prompting students to ask a series of scientific-minded questions about each topic. All aspects of the book-the topics covered, learning objectives, quizzes, even the modular format-have been developed to enable students to categorize the overwhelming amount of information they encounter, and to ignite their interest in psychological science. To ensure that scientific literacy is at the core of the book, content and features are organized around a scientific literacy model asking students: o What do we know about this? o How can science help to explain this? o Can we critically evaluate the evidence? o Why is this relevant?
